The Tea Commissioner’s Division of the Sri Lanka Tea Board plays a pivotal role in regulating the core functions that relate to the cultivation, manufacturing and quality development of tea.
The Tea Commissioner’s Division operates through a network of seven regional offices and undertakes the registration and certification of Ceylon Tea brands, ensuring that only brands which meet the Board’s stringent quality standards carry the iconic ‘Ceylon Tea’ Lion logo.
From the registration and monitoring of tea manufacturer’s, factories, green tea leaf dealers, refuse tea processing centers and dealers to providing subsidies for factory modernization and replanting as well as conducting product quality certification programs, the Tea Commissioner’s Division plays an absolutely critical role in the industry’s sustainability and progress.
