The 25th sessional meeting of the Food & Agricultural Organization /Inter-Governmental Group on Tea conducted in Guwahati, Assam (India) from 31st January to 2nd February 2024. This platform was usually created for discussions among the member nations regarding the progress made in respect of on-going topics as well as the new agenda items proposed to be taken-up at the next Conference (26th Session) related to Global Tea Market. The tea producing countries and main Tea Associations in the consumer countries attended and discussed Quality of Tea in Global market, MRLs in teas, Smallholders contribution and live hood, Organic Tea, Climate Change impact to Tea producing countries and health benefits in the Tea. The Sri Lanka delegation headed the Tea Quality, Promotions and Global Market Analysis areas.
