SLEMB trade promotions at the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) 2024, Beijing China

The China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) 2024 was held from 26^th to 30^th November 2024 in Beijing, China. The event was organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), is a government-backed organization in China that focuses on promoting trade and investment between China and other countries. The event focusses to connect all parts of the supply chain (from start to finish), bring together businesses of all sizes, and encourage cooperation between industries, universities, research, and real-world practices. It also aims to help Chinese and international businesses interact with each other.

The SLEMB organized the promotion of Sri Lanka’s brands at the Sri Lankan pavilion, specifically Ceylon Spices and Ceylon Tea, targeting both the Chinese B2B and B2C markets. Additionally, a press briefing was held during the event to highlight the national brands from Sri Lanka, chaired by H.E. the Ambassador, H.E.Majintha Jayesinghe, SLEMB. Moreover, a detailed presentation was delivered by Minister (Commercial) Mrs. Nalika Kodikara, highlighting Ceylon Spices, Pineapple, and Ceylon Gemstones. The uniqueness and quality aspects as well as the performance of Ceylon Tea in the Chinese market, were further emphasized by the Tea Promotion Officer in the media briefing.
