Strategic Public Diplomacy Initiative of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing Creates High-Impact Promotional Platform for Ceylon Tea
On 03 April 2026, the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing successfully hosted the official launch of a publication on Sri Lanka–China Relations under its Public Diplomacy Programme, themed “Community with a Shared Future.” The event brought together Chinese government officials, business stakeholders, members of the diplomatic corps, and local media, while also serving as an effective platform to promote Ceylon Tea. A specially curated tea ceremony featuring both Ceylon Tea and Chinese tea, along with a tasting session of teas from Sri Lanka’s seven agro-climatic regions, attracted significant interest and appreciation. The inclusion of Sri Lanka’s tea industry within the publication further reinforced the visibility of Ceylon Tea, making the event a valuable milestone in enhancing its presence in the Chinese market.
