Sri Lanka proudly participated in the 5th Tea Town Tourism Development Conference held in Hangzhou, organized by the Tea Industry Committee of China Association for the Promotion of International Agricultural Cooperation, joining leading tea-producing nations to promote global tea tourism. Under the “2026 Global Tea Region Tour Initiative,” Sri Lanka showcased the Uva Highlands, highlighting Amba Estate as a unique artisanal tea destination. This initiative offers a valuable platform to promote Ceylon Tea, enhance cultural exchange, and attract international tourists particularly from China while supporting sustainable tourism development and strengthening the global presence of Sri Lanka’s tea industry.
